“And the second angel sounded the trumpet: and as it were a great mountain, burning with fire, was cast into the sea, and the third part of the sea became blood: [9] And the third part of those creatures died, which had life in the sea, and the third part of the ships was destroyed.” (Apoc. 8, 8)
Our last post in this series, Fatima, Vatican II and the Chastisement 2, did not fully address the verse above. I appreciate that this was pointed out to me. We did mention the common opinion that the burning mountain referred to Islam, but did not note the fact that it may also refer to Russia. Indeed, Our Lady’s last appearance at Fatima on October 13, 1917, was just 25 days prior to the Bolshevik Revolution of November 7, 1917. Yes, as Father Sylvester Berry points out in his book, The Apocalypse of St. John, the burning mountain is most certainly a country and with the hindsight we have now, 99 years after Our Lady of Fatima warned that if Russia was was not consecrated, she (Russia) “will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions against the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated.” Fr. Berry: “The vision shows that, despite the preaching of the Gospel, some great nation will bring war and bloodshed upon a large portion of mankind. It also predicts great persecutions against the Church. Nations will seek to destroy the Church at all hazards.”
In another earlier post, Islam and the Errors of Russia, we explained the connection between the two evils, Islam and Russia. This will all be clear soon, as the chastisement reveals its contours more clearly. But for now, just note: Blessed Elena Aiello prophesied in the year 1960 (note well the date!) that “Russia will battle America and will overcome Europe. … will raise her flag over the Dome of St. Peter’s.” Indeed, some have noted that with Pope Francis, we already have a marxist pope, since he currently owns a symbol of the errors of Russia, that is, a hammer and sickle on which Christ Our Saviour hangs, crucified. Additionally, Sister Lucia herself told Dr. William Walsh, in answer to his inquiry whether the United States of America would be overcome by Communism unless the Consecration was done, “Yes”.
Let’s continue with Father Berry’s remarks on the end of Chapter 8:
“The prophecies of this chapter have been fulfilled many times in the past. No doubt they will often be verified in the future. It should be noted, however, that a progressive accumulation of evils is predicted. At first, it affects individuals only (Apoc. 8: 7). Then a nation or an entire church is involved (Apoc. 8: 8), and a number of great heretics fall away from the Faith (Apoc. 8: 10). Finally, the whole Church suffers from a weakening of Faith and discipline (Apoc. 8: 12). This gradual progression of evil, this “mystery of iniquity” (2 Thess. 2: 7), which was working even in the days of St. Paul will finally usher in the Antichrist. 13. An eagle appears in mid-heaven, proclaiming three great woes to follow the sounding of the remaining trumpets. Two interpretations are permissible. The first recognizes in the eagle a powerful nation which shall be an instrument of God’s judgments upon the world. The other interpretation sees in the eagle a symbol of new preachers of the Gospel. God raises up new saints or religious orders to arouse the faithful to renewed faith and zeal in His service. Nevertheless, three great evils shall afflict the Church before her final victory over the world and the devil. Whatever interpretation be adopted, there can be no doubt that this verse heralds the beginning of a new and important epoch in the history of the Church.”
This quote is taken directly from the KIC edition of Father Sylvester Berry’s essential book, “The Apocalypse of St. John”. Please bear in mind that the Apocalypse – and this poor writing of mine! – is not meant to frighten or dishearten. God reveals His will to us in His sacred scriptures so that as we see events unfold we can understand that He is always in charge, no matter how dire the situation may be, we know that in the end, His will triumphs. To this end, just before satan took Russia by bloody force, in the Revolution of “Red October”, He sent His most perfect creature, the Immaculata, with a warning and a promise.
Now, this Lent, we must use our time wisely! Live our total Consecration to the Immaculata, pray our rosaries, offer our fasting and sacrifices in reparation, beseeching God for the Consecration of Russia. Only in this way can the current tide be turned. Lent is a blessed time, make use of it while we can; for,
“Have in mind therefore in what manner thou hast received and heard: and observe, and do penance. If then thou shalt not watch, I will come to thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know at what hour I will come to thee.” (Apoc. 3,3).
† Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done!
† Queen of the Holy Rosary, triumph through thy Immaculate Heart!
† St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle!
† Remember, pray the Rosary and confound satan!
