FOR THOSE WHO HAVE ASKED . . .
A huge majority of my readers. (well, OK, 6 or 7) persist in contending with me over the subject of “Francis is not my pope!” which they justify by: A. The Conclave was rigged, B. He’a heretic (or apostate, or communist, or just plain creepy). I do completely sympathise with your exasperation and as all of my writing here attests, I do believe he is attempting to dismantle the beliefs and practices of the Holy Catholic Church, Christ’s Bride, and I want to defend our Lord Jesus Christ’s Church.
When I quote Father Malachi Martin on this subject, as I did in the essay, “A Headless Thing” I am trying, for those who can calm down long enough to listen, to explain that:
Sure, you can proclaim publicly – “Francis is NOT MY POPE!!!”
Anyone can do it! Especially Protestants. Hey you can put as many exclamation points after that as you want. In fact, let’s all just stomp our feet, and shout it and we can even throw in some obscenties. Let’s all do it until we are out of breath. Then we can pout over it.
But the fact remains that:
” … there is no official mechanism within the structure of the Church that is authorized to pass judgment on pope and papacy. Indeed, the Church’s official code of ecclesiastical law, canon law, expressly denies to anyone the right or duty of passing official judgment on pope or papacy.”
For so many years now, I’ve been trying to tell anyone who would listen, that this is the Chastisement that we have been warned about by the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Our Savior and Mother of the Church. She is our true Mother as well and she alone has been given the means to solve this predicament. How,? By leading us, as always, back to Christ’s will. Put aside your own ways, humble yourselves and follow your Mother back to her Son.
She will use your time with her, through her Rosary, to teach you how to love Him, and to serve Him in humility, obedience and purity. For this world has so corrupted even the best of us, as many a good priest would attest, to the point where we cannot discern God’s will for us without staying constantly united with her – Through her Rosary she teaches us how God wills to be served.
My Story
I’ve never wanted to publicly discuss my private business but perhaps this may help some of you. Once I was young, a struggling mother of four children under the age of nine. My own mother had slipped into alcoholism. It was a terrible situation for my two younger brothers, abandoned by their father – we were all helpless in the face of this ongoing and very public tragedy. I bitterly complained to our priest, who recommended the AA family support group, Alanon. He told me it was founded in part, by a good Catholic priest, himself a recovering alcoholic. The priest coined several sayings, like affirmations, and one was “Let go and let God.” Father recommended I put this into practice and begin praying to ask God’s will and the grace to follow it.
Mama recovered, by the grace of God and after a long life died sober and in the faith. Now Father did not intend that I do nothing but pray, not at all. But that I cast aside my injured pride at the hurt Mama was causing us all, and seek to know and do God’s will in love. Above all, humility and obedience to God’s will.
But to do that, I had to stop raging about it! We all need to put aside our own way and seek God’s way. But we cannot find what we don’t want to see and this means we must accept that we are being chastised by God for our own willfulness.
May the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of the Church bless and preserve us all from attempting to be our own popes. We are not Luther’s children, we are Mary’s after all!
Remember – Our Lady needs us to obey: First Saturdays of Reparation, daily rosary, at least 5 mysteries, wear her brown scapular and live your Total Consecration to her Immaculate Heart, offering our daily duties in reparation and for the conversion of poor sinners.
Open your hearts to the Lord and serve Him only: and He will free you from the hands of your enemies. With all your heart return to Him, and take away from your midst any strange gods” (I Kings 7:3)
✝︎ Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of our hearts, Mother of the Church, do thou offer to the Eternal Father the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, for the conversion of poor sinners, especially our Pontiff.
✝︎ Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy kingdom come! Viva Cristo Rey!
✝︎ St. Joseph, protect us, protect our families, protect our priests.
✝︎ St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
