In His revelations to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque from 1673-1675, Our Lord Jesus Christ asked that He be “honored under the figure of His heart of flesh … environed with flames, crowned with thorns, and surmounted by a cross”. The Divine Mercy devotion removes the Sacred Heart from the image of Jesus.
It seems self-evident that there is a contradiction here. Did Jesus ever explain to Sister Faustina why He changed His mind? Let’s discuss this.
In His approved revelations to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, Our Lord specifically asked for devotion to the image of His Sacred Heart.
In the words of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque:
“One day, on the Feast of St. John the Evangelist, after Holy Communion, the Heart of Jesus was represented to me as on a throne, formed of fire and flames, shedding rays on every side and brighter than the sun. The wound which He received upon the Cross was clearly visible; a crown of thorns encircled the Sacred Heart, and it was surmounted by a cross.
“Our divine Savior gave me to understand that those instruments of the Passion signified that the source of all His sufferings had been the boundless love of His Heart for men; that all those torments and insults had been placed before Him, from the first moment of His Incarnation; and that the Cross was, so to say, planted in His Heart, from that moment. And then, from that same moment, He accepted all the sorrows and humiliations which His sacred humanity was to suffer during the course of His mortal life, together with all the outrages to which He was to expose Himself to the end of time for the love of mankind by dwelling amongst them in the Blessed Sacrament.”
“We declare, pronounce, and define that the doctrine which holds that the most Blessed Virgin Mary, in the first instance of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege granted by Almighty God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the human race, was preserved free from all stain of original sin, is a doctrine revealed by God and therefore to be believed firmly and constantly by all the faithful.” (Pope Pius IX, ‘Ineffabilis Deus’)
In the last Synod, there was idolatry in the Vatican, under the auspices of the man who currently occupies the See of Peter. This man, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, has steadily increased the intensity of his assaults on the most Blessed Virgin. His actions in no way honor Our Lord Jesus Christ nor do they honor the Immaculate Mother of our Savior.
“For these are the days of vengeance, that all things may be fulfilled, that are written.” (Luke 21,22)
For her feast day now, we turn to Our Lady once more and seek her assistance – we are her children and she will lead us safely through this crisis, no matter how dark the way – she has promised us,
“Don’t lose heart. I will never forsake you. My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God.” (June 13, 1917)
None of us ever feel adequately prepared! But we must make a start, in any event. And our Blessed Mother will do the rest! She sees into the intentions of our hearts and she is the very Mother of Mercy!
And now, here is our Consecration:
ACT OF CONSECRATION TO JESUS THROUGH MARY
O ETERNAL and incarnate Wisdom! O sweetest and most adorable Jesus! True God and true man, only Son of the Eternal Father, and of Mary, always virgin! I adore Thee profoundly in the bosom and splendors of Thy Father during eternity; and I adore Thee also in the virginal bosom of Mary, Thy most worthy Mother, in the time of Thine incarnation.
I give Thee thanks for that Thou hast annihilated Thyself, taking the form of a slave in order to rescue me from the cruel slavery of the devil. I praise and glorify Thee for that Thou hast been pleased to submit Thyself to Mary, Thy holy Mother, in all things, in order to make me Thy faithful slave through her. But, alas! Ungrateful and faithless as I have been, I have not kept the promises which I made so solemnly to Thee in my Baptism; I have not fulfilled my obligations; I do not deserve to be called Thy child, nor yet Thy slave; and as there is nothing in me which does not merit Thine anger and Thy repulse, I dare not come by myself before Thy most holy and august Majesty. It is on this account that I have recourse to the intercession of Thy most holy Mother, whom Thou hast given me for a mediatrix with Thee. It is through her that I hope to obtain of Thee contrition, the pardon of my sins, and the acquisition and preservation of wisdom.
Hail, then, O immaculate Mary, living tabernacle of the Divinity, where the Eternal Wisdom willed to be hidden and to be adored by angels and by men! Hail, O Queen of Heaven and earth, to whose empire everything is subject which is under God. Hail, O sure refuge of sinners, whose mercy fails no one. Hear the desires which I have of the Divine Wisdom; and for that end receive the vows and offerings which in my lowliness I present to thee.
I, ________________, a faithless sinner, renew and ratify today in thy hands the vows of my Baptism; I renounce forever Satan, his pomps and works; and I give myself entirely to Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, to carry my cross after Him all the days of my life, and to be more faithful to Him than I have ever been before. In the presence of all the heavenly court I choose thee this day for my Mother and Mistress. I deliver and consecrate to thee, as thy slave, my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions, past, present and future; leaving to thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me, without exception, according to thy good pleasure, for the greater glory of God in time and in eternity.
Receive, O benignant Virgin, this little offering of my slavery, in honor of, and in union with, that subjection which the Eternal Wisdom deigned to have to thy maternity; in homage to the power which both of you have over this poor sinner, and in thanksgiving for the privileges with which the Holy Trinity has favored thee. I declare that I wish henceforth, as thy true slave, to seek thy honor and to obey thee in all things.
O admirable Mother, present me to thy dear Son as His eternal slave, so that as He has redeemed me by thee, by thee He may also receive me! O Mother of mercy, grant me the grace to obtain the true Wisdom of God; and for that end receive me among those whom thou lovest, teachest, and protectest as thy children and thy slaves.
O faithful Virgin, make me in all things so perfect a disciple, imitator and slave of the Incarnate Wisdom, Jesus Christ thy Son, that I may attain, by thine intercession and by thine example, to the fullness of His age on earth and of His glory in Heaven. Amen. (St. Louis-Marie Grignon de Monfort, “True Devotion to Mary, with Preparation for Total Consecration”, by Catholic Way, Kindle Edition).
SIMPLE DAILY CONSECRATION
“I choose thee this day, O Mary, in the presence of the whole court of Heaven, as my Mother and Queen. I give and consecrate to thee as thy slave my body and my soul, my interior and exterior possessions, and even the value of my past, present and future good actions, allowing thee the full right to dispose of me and of all that belongs to me, without any exception whatever, according to thy good pleasure, for the greater glory of God, in time and in eternity. Amen”
Making the Consecration is the easy part; fulfilling it can be difficult for these are times of great temptation, especially temptations to pride and to despair – and we note that often pride results in despair; for we trust not our loving Saviour but in ourselves and so our inevitable failings are especially hard to bear. Our Consecrations make us children of Mary and that is our firm guarantee that as long as we trust in her Immaculate Heart, we are assured to share in her victory.
We offer a private but very popular prayer of reparation to our beloved Mother:
Prayer of Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
O Immaculate Heart of Mary, living tabernacle of the Divinity, most Sorrowful Mother, I offer you my love and fidelity and my firm desire to make reparation for the blasphemies and offenses which are unceasingly offered to you and which so offend your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.
† The more your Immaculate Conception is blasphemed, the more firmly I will proclaim it, most pure Mother of God.
† The more that enemies within the Church despise and ignore your loving mercy, the more I will love You, most Blessed Mother.
† The more your perpetual virginity is attacked, the more I will honor you, ever-virgin Mother of our Savior.
† The more your Rosary is denigrated and blasphemed, the more I will recite it with love and reverence, most generous Heart of Mary.
† The more your message of Fatima is ignored and lied about, the more I will take care to observe it and spread its truth, dear Lady of the Rosary.
† The more that you are blasphemed and scorned by the enemies within the Church, the more ardently I will make reparation, O Mother of Mercy.
† The more the imitation of your purity and humility is scorned and forgotten, the more I will endeavor to imitate you, most Sorrowful Mother.
† The more the devil strives to destroy devotion to you and your message, the more I will be inflamed to devotion to the prayers and penances you request, O Mother of Divine Grace.
† The more that sin and impurity deface and destroy your divine Son’s image in man, the more I shall try by purity of life to be a living temple of the Holy Spirit, most pure and holy Mother of God.
† The more your Holy Church is scorned and compromised, the more I will endeavor to be her faithful child, O Holy Mother of the Church.
† The more that hubris, heresy and apostasy threaten our Holy Church, the more I will turn to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to your Immaculate Heart to save us, most beloved Mother.
† The more the Sacred Heart of Jesus is blasphemed through false devotions, the more I will increase my fervent devotions to Him, most faithful Mother of our Savior.
† The more the Church is persecuted, the more I will pray and sacrifice for for her triumph and exaltation, Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Let us pray: most Immaculate Heart of Mary, always obedient to the Eternal Father, teach us to be ever obedient and humble in the face of the diabolical disorientation that has sown such chaos in the Church and disheartened so many. Suffer us not to be scandalized by this long, dark night of the soul of our Church, but to persevere in loving obedience trusting always in your Immaculate Heart and in the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Amen.
St. Pio’s Prayer to the Immaculata
My most pure Mother, my soul so poor, all stained with wretchedness and sin cries out to your maternal heart. In your goodness, deign, I beseech you, to pour out on me at least a little of the grace that flowed into you with such infinite profusion from the Heart of God. Strengthened and supported by this grace, may I succeed in better loving and serving Almighty God Who filled your heart completely, and Who created the temple of your body from the moment of your Immaculate Conception.
Oh, my Mother, how ashamed I feel in your presence, weighed down as I am with faults! You are most pure and immaculate from the moment of your conception, indeed, from the moment in eternity when you were conceived in the mind of God.
Have pity on me! May one compassionate look of yours revive me, purify me and lift me up to God; raising me from the filth of this world so that I may go to Him Who created me, Who regenerated me in Holy Baptism, giving me back my white stole of innocence that original sin had so defiled. Dear Mother, make me love Him! Pour into my heart that love which burned in yours for Him. Even though I be clothed in misery, I revere the mystery of your Immaculate Conception, and I ardently wish that through it, you may purify my heart so that I may love your God and my God. Cleanse my mind that it may reach up to Him and contemplate Him and adore Him in spirit and in truth. Purify my body that I too may be a tabernacle for Him and be less unworthy of possessing Him when He deigns to come to me in Holy Communion. Amen.
St. Pio, pray for us and for the Church!
Dear readers, You do have all you need in this time. God has blessed you with His own Mother!. You have your faith, hold to it, likewise, you have your rosaries, use them! Make every effort to attend the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass as often as possible. Never miss an opportunity to receive the true sacraments, gain every indulgence that you can and offer them to Our Lady for the conversion of sinners, especially the pope, hierarchy and those you are responsible for.
The times are upon us when our faith will be even more sorely tried. Many will be lost – but not a single soul who truly trusts in the loving Hearts of Jesus and Mary will be lost. We trust in Our Lady, for she is the Gate of the Dawn. The Sun of Justice entered the dark and sinful world through Mary Immaculate. And we are her children, after all!
Remember – Our Lady needs us to obey: First Saturdays of Reparation, daily rosary, at least 5 mysteries, wear her brown scapular and live your Total Consecration to her Immaculate Heart, offering daily duties in reparation and for the conversion of poor sinners.
Open your hearts to the Lord and serve Him only: and He will free you from the hands of your enemies. With all your heart return to Him, and take away from your midst any strange gods” (I Kings 7:3)
† Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of our hearts, Mother of the Church, do thou offer to the Eternal Father the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, for the conversion of poor sinners, especially our Pontiff. † Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy kingdom come! Viva Cristo Rey! † St. Joseph, protect us, protect our families, protect our priests. † St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
~ by evensong for love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, King.
Vouchsafe that I may praise thee, O Sacred Virgin! Give me strength against thine enemies!.
