And the Sixth Angel Sounded the Trumpet

“One woe is past, and behold there come yet two woes more hereafter.
And the sixth angel sounded the trumpet:”

[13] … and I heard a voice from the four horns of the great altar, which is before the eyes of God, [14] Saying to the sixth angel, who had the trumpet: Loose the four angels, who are bound in the great river Euphrates. [15] And the four angels were loosed, who were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year: for to kill the third part of men.

[16] And the number of the army of horsemen was twenty thousand times ten thousand. And I heard the number of them. [17] And thus I saw the horses in the vision: and they that sat on them, had breastplates of fire and of hyacinth and of brimstone, and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions: and from their mouths proceeded fire, and smoke, and brimstone. [18] And by these three plagues was slain the third part of men, by the fire and by the smoke and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. [19] For the power of the horses is in their mouths, and in their tails. For, their tails are like to serpents, and have heads: and with them they hurt. [20] And the rest of the men, who were not slain by these plagues, did not do penance from the works of their hands, that they should not adore devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and wood, which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

[21] Neither did they penance from their murders, nor from their sorceries, nor from their fornication, nor from their thefts. (Apocalypse Chapter 9, verses 13-21)

With the Sixth Angel’s Trumpet, we are introduced to the most severe chastisement so far.

Insight from Mother Maria de Jesus de Agreda

Did you know that the title of Venerable Mother Maria de Agreda’s book, “The Mystical City of God” refers to the Blessed Virgin Mary? I didn’t, but now I want to share with you some of what I learned from Mother Maria de Agreda.

The following is taken from her Book I, Chapter XVIII.

SEQUEL OF THE MYSTERY OF THE CONCEPTION OF THE MOST HOLY MARY AS DESCRIBED IN THE SECOND PART OF THE TWENTY-FIRST CHAPTER OF THE APOCALYPSE.

“The angels of which the Evangelist speaks in this place, are seven of those who attend in a special manner at the throne of God and who have received commission and power to punish some of the sins of men. This vengeance of the wrath of the Omnipotent (Apoc. 15, 1) will happen in the last ages of the world; but it shall be a new punishment, greater than which neither before nor after is possible during mortal existence.”

ED. NOTE: Ven. Agreda here refers to Apocalypse Ch.15,1: “And I saw another sign in heaven, great and wonderful: seven angels having the seven last plagues. For in them is filled up the wrath of God.”

We return to Ven. Agreda again:

“But since these mysteries are deeply hidden and since not all have been revealed to me, nor concern this history, I do not consider it proper to expatiate upon them, but I will pass on to what more closely concerns my task.

“This angel, of which St. John speaks, is the one through whom God will avenge with an especial and dreadful chastisement the injuries committed against His most holy Mother ; for the insane daring, with which they have despised Her, has roused the indignation of His Omnipotence. As the most holy Trinity has pledged Itself to honor and exalt this Queen of heaven above all human creatures and above the angels, placing Her in this world as a Mirror of the Divinity and as the special Mediatrix of mortals, God has taken it in a particular manner upon Himself to avenge the heresies, errors, outrages, and all injuries committed against Her, since thereby men have not glorified, acknowledged and adored Him in this tabernacle and have not made use of this incomparable mercy.

“These punishments are prophesied to the holy Church. Although the mysterious words of the Apocalypse enshroud in obscurity the rigor of this punishment, yet woe to the unhappy ones, that shall be overtaken by it! Woe to me, who have offended a God so strong and powerful to chastise! I am overwhelmed in the expectation of the great calamity here threatened.”

The Message of Fatima, a Great Sign

From our archives, from 2017 and updated for August 28, 2021.

Although Pope John XXIII refused to release the long-awaited Third Secret of Fatima, it is noteworthy that the popes who succeeded him, Paul VI, John Paul II and Benedict XVI, all  referenced the Apocalypse or the last times when speaking of Fatima.

In that earlier post, we discussed that Pope Paul VI made a pilgrimage to Fatima on May 13, 1967 for  the 50th anniversary of Our Lady’s first visit. In his address, he referred to “The great sign which the Apostle John saw in Heaven, “a woman clothed with the sun,”  in connection with Our Lady of Fatima.  After thus linking  Fatima with Chapter 12 of the Apocalypse, he cautioned, “we wish to call the attention of all sons of the Church once more to the indissoluble link between the spiritual motherhood of Mary … and the duties of redeemed men toward Her, the Mother of the Church.”  It was quintessentially typical of him that he urges  the faithful to be obedient even as he disobeyed the Blessed Mother and betrayed her children. (Pope Paul VI,Apostolic Letter, “Signum Magnum”, that is, Great Sign)

The Great Red Dragon

And then, on the same date, in the same place, but 33 years later,  that is, in 2000,  Pope John Paul II spoke on the occasion of the Beatification of the Fatima shepherds, Jacinta and Francisco,

“Another portent appeared in Heaven; behold, a great red dragon” (Apoc. 12:3). These words from the first reading of the Mass make us think of the great struggle between good and evil, showing how, when man puts God aside, he cannot achieve happiness, but ends up destroying himself.…

“The Message of Fatima is a call to conversion, alerting humanity to have nothing to do with the ‘dragon’ whose ‘tail swept down a third of the stars of Heaven, and cast them to the earth’ ” (Apoc. 12:4).  (Pope John Paul II, Homily at Fatima, May 13, 2000)

Ten years after Pope John Paul II’s reference linking the message of Fatima with Apocalypse, Chapter 12, Pope Benedict XVI on  May 13, 2010, said of the message of Fatima:

“He deceives himself who thinks that the prophetic mission of Fatima is concluded.” He added: “There are indicated future realities of the Church which little by little are manifesting themselves… and therefore it is the sufferings of the Church which are announced.”

A Cycle of Death and Terror

We include two other quotes from the pope’s talk at Fatima May 13, 2010:

“Man has the power to unleash a cycle of death and terror, but he is not able to stop it.” And then: “The faith in vast regions of the earth risks being extinguished, like a flame without fuel.”

Although Pope Benedict is a modernist and was one of the “Periti” who highjacked Vatican II – and therefore bears  much responsibility for the revolution unleashed by the Council, he did work to reverse at least some of the  errors unleashed by that Council. By issuing  Summorum Pontificum, releasing the true Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, Benedict did much to restore grace to the impoverished Church.  And by his words at Fatima in 2010, he  helped mitigate his errors in the Vatican’s farcical Third Secret of 2000.

What changed his mind in the decade from 2000 to 2010? I believe it was the work of Father Gruner and the other true Fatimists, such as John Vennari and Christopher Ferrara who never ceased their efforts to keep the true message of Fatima alive.  Indeed, Pope Benedict seems possibly to be the suffering Pope spoken of so long ago by Jacinta. Her sufferings and constant prayers may have been what mitigated the disaster somewhat, especially if augmented by the prayers and sacrifices offered by those who have consecrated themselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in response to Father Gruner’s efforts. It is so good to see that Ferrara and the Fatima Center continue this fight to keep the message of Fatima before the eyes of the faithful.

The Devil is come down to you

For now, we return to Chapter 12, verses 11-14:

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of the testimony, and they loved not their lives unto death. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you that dwell therein. Woe to the earth, and to the sea, because the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, knowing that he hath but a short time.  And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman, who brought forth the man child:  And there were given to the woman two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the desert unto her place, where she is nourished for a time and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.”

This tells us of Satan, the Ancient Serpent, who has set up his Kingdom on earth  among the Godless nations and wars against the Woman, that is the most Blessed Virgin and the Church, the Bride of Christ.  Our Lord Himself has promised us that the Gates of satan’s worldly kingdom, the man-made utopia  which is even now promoted by Pope Francis himself -those hateful gates of satan’s kingdom on earth will not prevail, for the Victory belongs to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

“A TIME AND TIMES and HALF A TIME”

A reader gives us insight into the scriptural phrase above. A very dear reader wrote me recently,

One mystery that I noted is a time, times and half a time falls between December 10, 2025 and June 13, 2029.  I often wondered why Our Lady would make Her request for First Saturday Reparation on December 10, 1925 and return three and a half years later on June 13, 1929 to request the Consecration to Russia of Her Immaculate Heart.  Why were these two requests separated by a time, times and half a time.

I believe those happy souls who will have five First Saturdays by December 10, 2025 will be greatly comforted during the dark times which will follow the one hundred year anniversary or Our Lady’s First Saturday request on December 10, 2025.  Then after the one hundred year anniversary of Our Lady’s request for the consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart on June 13, 2029, will begin the darkest time which will end with the death of the Church.

Our Lord will resurrect His Church.  We may not recognize it at first, like Mary Magdalen at the tomb; because, it may look different to us.  It just may be the old Church and ancient Liturgy.  Then will begin the wonderful period of peace Our Lady promised.

The reader’s comments above were insightful and I am very blessed by so many of those faithful Catholics who not only read my articles, but also contribute their thoughts!

TAKE HEART!

Think now, when Jesus our Savior was stripped naked, nailed to a cross so that all might watch Him die, seeming to be abandoned, in utmost desolation, was He vanquished by the devil? No, far from it!  And thus, think now, as the Church suffers at the hands of the same workers of satan that shouted, “Crucify Him!”; is she vanquished? No, far from it! Believe this! Believe it and trust! Take heart and renew your prayers, offer all as reparation. Now is not the time to fail.

In the above passage,  the Church, attacked by the serpent is given the wings of a great eagle to fly to a place of safety in the desert. To understand this passage, we look back to Exodus, to the time when the Lord God saved His Chosen People from the power of the Ancient Enemy in pagan Egypt.

After leading them miraculously into the desert, the Lord tells the leader of the Israelites,  Moses,

“Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel: You have seen what I have done to the Egyptians, how I have carried you upon the wings of eagles, and have taken you to myself.  If therefore you will hear my voice, and keep my covenant, you shall be my peculiar possession above all people: for all the earth is mine.  And you shall be to me a priestly kingdom, and a holy nation.” (Ex. 19, 6)

In this passage, our Heavenly Father reminds that after punishing the wicked Egyptians, He  rescued His children “upon the wings of eagles”, that is by His angelic messengers. The “wings of eagles” refers to angelic spirits, either good or fallen, depending on their context.  For instance, Ezechiel 17,  the Kings of Babylon and Egypt are referred to as eagles that are allowed to war against the King of God’s people, who has broken his oath with  the Lord. We know that all nations have their guardian angels and they have fallen angels as well, to tempt them if they are good nations, and to rule them if they do not serve Christ the King. How powerful are these Principalities and Powers today!

Sustained by Angels

However, in Isaiah 40 ,  the Lord promises, “They that hope in the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall take wings as eagles”. Thus, our Heavenly Father promises that those who trust in Him will be sustained by their angels, as has been proved many times in the lives of our heroic saints. In this, we see that the Church of these latter times after being chastened, will return to trust in the Lord,  Who sends the Church ministering Angels to lead her to safety. Applying this to our times, we again refer to the prophecy of St. John Bosco, which we posted as No Longer in Rome. Note that the Angels appeared to the Holy Father and the faithful. They carried a banner:

”They presented it to the Holy Father and said: ‘Receive the banner of He Who fights and scatters the strongest armies of the world. Your enemies are dispersed. Your children with tears and sighs beg you to return.’ “Looking at the banner one could see written on one side, ‘Queen conceived without sin,’ and on the other side, ‘Help of Christians.’ “

Returning to the Apocalypse, Ch. 12, in verses 15-16,.

“And the serpent cast out of his mouth after the woman, water as it were a river; that he might cause her to be carried away by the river. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the river, which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

Now,  the term, “the earth” refers to the Church, as when we read of the Second Beast who arose from the earth, meaning from within the Church.  From our Savior comes grace that saves us, but from the ancient enemy, the serpent, there flows a torrent of vile sins, to flood the Church will filth, both material and spiritual filth (heresy, apostasy).  But this passage shows that the earth, that is the Church, “swallows it up”, that is, by the graces which flow through her to the salvation of souls, the Church will cast out all evil, reconcile repentant sinners, restore the Faith, and bring forth new and glorious saints, virgins and martyrs.  Apropos this passage, recall the prophecy of St. Hildegard in her work Scivias, which we discussed earlier,  The Figure of a Woman.

And for now,  we remember, all graces flow through the Immaculata, the Woman clothed with the Sun. And thus, her Immaculate Heart triumphs.

For the related, earlier post: Apocalypse 12, Part 1

Pray the Rosary and trust in Our Lady – she will not fail!

Remember – Our Lady needs us to obey:  First Saturdays of Reparation, daily rosary, at least 5 mysteries, wear her brown scapular and live your Total Consecration to her Immaculate Heart, offering daily duties in reparation and for the conversion of sinners.

†  Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of our hearts, Mother of the Church, do thou offer to the Eternal Father the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, for the conversion of poor sinners, especially our Pontiff.
†  Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy kingdom come! Viva Cristo Rey!
†  Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death.
†  St. Joseph, protect us, protect our families, protect our priests.
†  St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.

Please pray for the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary!

~ by evensong for love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, King.
Vouchsafe that I may praise thee, O Sacred Virgin! Give me strength against thine enemies!

Frère Michel on the Age of Apostasy, updated 2021

Today, another post from our archives.

Father Malachi Martin and Frère Michel de la Sainte Trinité could have had an interesting discussion, couldn’t they? You all know very well Father Martin’s writings (link) about the enthronement which occurred in the reign of Paul VI. Let’s keep it in mind as we review what Frère Michel tells us here:

FROM “THE WHOLE TRUTH ABOUT FATIMA, VOL. III”

It is Jesus Himself Who first predicted this terrible crisis of the Faith which will open the “last times”. Along with famines and earthquakes, wars and persecutions, Our Lord clearly predicts that there will also be grave deficiencies even within the Church:

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation, and will put you to death; and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will fall away, and will betray one another, and will hate one another. And many false prophets will arise, and will lead many astray. And because iniquity will abound, the charity of the many will grow cold. But whoever perseveres to the end, he shall be saved.” (Mt. 24: 9-13)

“… For false Christs and false prophets will arise, and will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. Behold, I have foretold it to you.” (Mt. 24: 24)

Finally, we are familiar with these intriguing words of Jesus:

“… But yet the Son of man, when He cometh, shall He find, think you, faith on earth?” (Luke 18,8)

This question of Our Lord, explained by His other prophecies on the last times – which are utterly definite and unconditional – takes on an even more dramatic resonance. The apostasy will come, Jesus evokes its most extreme extension, and He leaves us in uncertainty.

THE APOSTOLIC PREACHING

The Apostles understood this tragic teaching very well. There are countless texts where they evoke this menacing apostasy. They multiply warnings against its artisans, the false prophets and false doctors of all sorts, who come from the Church’s very bosom and are already at work against Her, striving furiously to destroy the Faith of the faithful. But “in the last days”, they make it clear, the false prophets will multiply most dangerously. We must reread chapters II and III of Saint Peter’s Second Epistle:

“But there were false prophets also among the people, just as among you there will be lying teachers who will bring in destructive sects. They even disown the Lord Who bought them, thus bringing upon themselves swift destruction.” (2 Pet. 2: 1)

“This first you must know, that in the last days there will come deceitful scoffers, men walking according to their own lusts, saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”… But beloved, do not be ignorant of this one thing, that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord does not delay in His promises, but for your sake is long-suffering, not wishing that any should perish but that all should turn to repentance.” (2 Pet. 3: 3-9)

We must reread Saint Jude, taking up the same theme:

“Be mindful of the words that have been spoken beforehand by the apostles of Our Lord Jesus Christ, who kept saying to you that at the end of time there will come scoffers, walking impiously according to their desires.” (Jude 17)

As for Saint John, he denounces “the Antichrist who is coming”, and the many antichrists who have already come, as his precursors and first manifestations.  Saint Paul is no less insistent, from the beginning of his ministry until his last epistles to Timothy and Titus. He attacks the heretics who trouble his churches as the first of a long line of “deceitful spirits and liars”, who will go on multiplying during the “last times”.  He writes to Timothy:

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in the last times some will depart from the Faith (literally: ‘apostatize from the Faith’), giving heed to deceitful spirits and doctrines of devils, and having their conscience branded …” (1 Tim. 4: 1-2)

“But know this, that in the last days dangerous times will come.” Saint Paul goes on to describe the growing iniquity mentioned by Our Lord. How relevant that picture is! And note well – he is not speaking about the pagans, but about Christians at the time of the great apostasy. He continues: “Men will be lovers of self, haughty, covetous, proud, blasphemous, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, criminal, heartless, faithless, slanderous, incontinent, merciless, unkind, treacherous, stubborn, puffed up with pride, loving pleasure more than God; having a semblance indeed of piety, but disowning its power.” (2 Tim. 3: 1-5)

In other words, under a surface piety, they will be overcome by the impiety around them and will fall into apostasy, often by way of deceitful teachers and their own curiosity for knowledge.

The apostle continues:

“For there will come a time when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but having itching ears, will heap up to themselves teachers according to their own lusts, and they will turn away their hearing from the truth and turn aside rather to fables.” (2 Tim. 4: 3-4)

An attentive reading of all these texts shows clearly that the Apostles, using the occasion of those who were stirring up trouble in their own time, definitely intended to give a more vast and prophetic teaching. “There will come a time…”, says Saint Paul.

A SECRET FOR THE TIME OF
THE GREAT APOSTASY

If, as we have shown, the third Secret announces a terrible crisis of the Church, the loss of Faith on the scale of nations or entire continents, does it not correspond, in a striking manner, to the prophecies of Scripture concerning the apostasy of the “last times”? Perhaps it even refers to them in an explicit enough manner.

Sister Lucia, as we have seen, was not afraid to tell Father Fuentes that Our Lady’s messages imply that we have entered ‘the last times of the world’. We now have a solid proof that this theme really belongs to the third Secret, in Cardinal Ratzinger’s declaration to Vittorio Messori, in August 1984. After stating that he had read the Secret, the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith answered the journalist, who had asked why this Secret was still not revealed:

“Because, according to the judgment of the Popes, it adds nothing to what a Christian must already know from revelation: a radical call to conversion, the absolute gravity of history, dangers threatening the faith and life of the Christian, and therefore the world. And also the importance of the ‘last times’… But the things contained in this third Secret correspond to what is announced in Scripture…”

Here we have a declaration of capital importance! Granted, the Cardinal could have spoken without circumlocutions and told us simply, without ambiguous periphrases, what themes properly belong to the third Secret. It is clear however that in his enumeration, three elements, which cannot be connected with the message of Fatima already known, certainly refer us to the specific contents of the third Secret.

They are:

  1. “Dangers to the faith.”
  2. “The importance of the last times.”
  3. The fact that the prophecies “contained in the third Secret correspond to what is announced in Scripture.” This is tantamount to stating in a different way that the third Secret concerns the “last times”.

What, in effect, are the prophecies of Scripture which have not yet been fulfilled, if not those which concern “the last times”?

Besides, as we will have occasion to repeat, there is the series of great manifestations of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to Saint Margaret Mary (from 1673 to 1689); at the dawn of the 18th century, there is the extraordinary mission of Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort, Apostle of Mary Mediatrix, and prophet of Her apocalyptic role in the great battle of the last times, whose imminence he foresaw; and in the nineteenth century there is the series of great apparitions of the Immaculate Virgin, especially those of Rue du Bac, La Salette, Lourdes – all these are situated in this context of the “last times of the world”,  preparing the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the striking victory of Christ the King, for the inauguration of the spiritual, social and political reign of Their two united Hearts.

Did not Heaven propose the cult of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and then devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to revive in souls charity, which had grown so cold  “in these last centuries”, and in some way propose them as the two final and divine remedies to the growing iniquity and menacing impiety?

WE ARE IN THE TIME OF THE TRIUMPH
OF THE ANTICHRIST POWERS

Since we have good reasons to think that the sad times we are living in really are “the last times”, marked by apostasy, the prophecies of Scripture are most especially addressed to us, and we would be inexcusable not to seek there our light, strength, and consolation in the great trial coming. So let us continue to listen, with docility, to the teaching of the Apostles on the future awaiting us…

“THE MYSTERY OF INIQUITY”
ACCORDING TO SAINT PAUL

The Apostle is speaking to his Christians of Thessalonica, who were persuaded of the imminent coming, or “parousia”, of Our Lord. No, he answers them, it is still not here. And here is the vitally important text, concerning the apostasy of the last times:

“Let no one deceive you in any way, for the day of the Lord will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the Man of sin (the Man of impiety) is revealed, the Son of perdition, the Adversary, who opposes and is exalted above all that is called God, or that is worshipped, so that he sits in the temple of God and gives himself out as if he were God.” (2 Thess. 2: 3-4)

Let us leave aside, for a moment, the verses dealing with the obstacle to his appearance, to describe right away his coming and his work:

“And his coming (i.e. the coming of the Impious one) is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all wicked deception to those who are perishing. For they have not received the love of truth that they might be saved. Therefore God sends them a misleading influence that they may believe falsehood, that all may be judged who have not believed the truth, but have preferred wickedness.” (2 Thess. 2: 9)

WHO IS THIS  “MAN OF SIN”,
THIS ANTICHRIST?

We can say Antichrist, although the word is not from Saint Paul, since all the exegetes are in accord in identifying the Impious one he speaks of with the Antichrist, whom Saint John speaks about in his epistles.  Who is he, this artisan of apostasy? Saint Paul uses three terms to define him.

  1. The first is difficult to translate: “o anthrôpos tês anomias”, the Man of Sin, of Impiety. The Greek term is more general and richer than all our translations: it is the Lawless man, in revolt against all laws, divine as well as human. He is the Impious one and the Revolutionary, in this sense, that he refuses to submit to all authority inasmuch as it derives from God, as well as all divine law: “I will not serve!” he cries. Parallel expressions well express the content of the word: he is the man “without faith or law”, whose motto is “neither God nor a master”… other than himself.
  1. This man is not only impious, he is an apostate, that is, a traitor: the term employed by Saint Paul, “the Son of perdition”, “o uios tês apôleias”, undoubtedly is reminiscent of Our Lord’s words, reported to us by Saint John: in this way Jesus designated Judas, the Apostle who was going to betray Him. (Jn. 17: 12) In almost all the passages of Scripture dealing with the apostasy, we find this insistence on the betrayal of the Church by the faithful, and even the Pastors.

Thus does Saint Paul denounce the “false apostles”, writing to the Corinthians:

“For they are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself disguises himself as an angel of light. It is no great thing, then, if his ministers disguise themselves as ministers of justice. But their end will be according to their works.” (2 Cor. 11: 13)

Bidding his adieus to the elders of the Church of Ephesus, he solemnly warns them:

“Take heed to yourselves, and to the whole flock in which the Holy Spirit has placed you as bishops, to rule the Church of God, which He has purchased with His own Blood. I know that after my departure fierce wolves will get in among you, and will not spare the flock. And from among your own selves men will rise speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. Watch, therefore…” (Acts 20: 28-31)

Saint Paul, following an increasing progression in his description, finally applies to this “Man of Sin” the very name of the devil: he is “the Adversary”, “Satan”, whose henchman he is. Saint John tells us of Judas, who had decided to betray Jesus: “Satan entered into him…” (Jn. 13: 37; Lk. 22: 3) Similarly, the Antichrist is the instrument of Satan, “who communicates his superhuman power to him, a little like the way the Spirit of Christ communicates itself to Christians”, comments Father Rigaux.  As in the Apocalypse, the Dragon, symbol of Satan, confers his power on the Beast, who symbolizes the powers in his service. (Apoc. 13: 12)

“THE MYSTERY OF INIQUITY
IS ALREADY AT WORK”

Before the second coming, the parousia of Christ, must come that of the Impious one. (2 Thess. 2: 1, 9) However, his diabolical work has already begun: “the mystery of iniquity is already at work”. (2 Thess. 2: 7)

Already, in secret, the Powers of evil foment the apostasy. Saint John teaches exactly the same thing: “You have heard that an Antichrist is coming; so now many antichrists have arisen…” (1 Jn. 2: 18) “… It is the spirit of Antichrist, of whom you have heard that he is coming, and now is already in the world.” (1 Jn. 4: 3) All the heretics that the Apostles denounce appear to them already as so many manifestations, embodiments of the Antichrist. The Antichrist is not an impersonal force. He never acts except through concrete persons. But he is not alone. The principle of unity is Satan, who inspires all his instruments, and makes them work in his service. What is clear, for Saint Paul as well as Saint John, is that every arch-heretic is already an antichrist, and every heresy is at bottom diabolically inspired.

[Ed: What does this tell us today about Pope Francis and his shameless promotion of the arch-heretic Luther and his eulogising of the satanic communist Castro?  And now, most lately, this unfortunate man’s promotion of Judas as his own patron saint. We cannot but wonder, what force inspires this pope?]

This does not exclude that at the end of time, a “Son of perdition” will appear, who will embody within himself all satanic malice and perversity. He will lead the struggle against the Church to its paroxysm, and provoke the universal apostasy.

THE TRIUMPH OF THE ANTICHRIST POWERS

Finally, at the end of an unstinting battle, there will come a day when “the mystery of iniquity” will seem completely victorious. The apostasy being quasi universal, the Man of Sin will manifest himself openly and bring the Impiety to its fullness. This will be his “revelation”, his great “manifestation”, a diabolical aping of Christ’s manifestation. Saint Paul tells us that he will go so far that he will “sit in the temple of God and give himself out as if he were God”. (2 Thess. 2: 3-4)

These are very mysterious words. An old commentator asks: “But what will be this temple of God in which he will sit? Perhaps it will be one of the most august churches of Rome, such as Saint Peter’s basilica, or perhaps the temple of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem…”

These words are all the more horrible since the text does not suggest a profanation coming from a persecuting power, such as Antiochus Epiphanes. It is in the naos, that is, the part of the temple where only the priests could enter, that the Impious one will sit – in other words, in the very heart of the Church. Moreover, the word kathisai does not include any nuance of usurpation by violence. It seems that he must sit through a fully legitimate right, as it was said to the Twelve: katêsesthe,  “you will sit”.

FATIMA BEFORE THE MYSTERY OF INIQUITY

Does the final Secret of Fatima allude to this terrible teaching of Scripture touching on the “last times”? Sister Lucia’s insistence on “the diabolical wave sweeping over the world” seems to us an indication.

Does it not mean, in effect, that we are living in the time of the triumph of the anti-Christ powers? If the Secret really does announce the great apostasy, how could it not refer more or less explicitly to Saint Paul’s prophecy where it is precisely this apostasy in question, inseparable from the “mystery of iniquity” at work in the world and the triumph of the Impious one in the Church’s very bosom?

A TEXT OF BISHOP VENANCIO

Bishop Venancio, who had probably received precise orders of John XXIII and then Paul VI, was always extremely discreet on the subject of the third Secret. But as the Bishop of Fatima, he was probably aware of certain elements of its contents, either through Sister Lucy or through Pope John XXIII.

In view of the celebration of the Fatima Jubilee, on July 25, 1966, he published a pastoral letter, where the few lines concerning the third Secret are worth retaining our attention. “Fatima has not yet said its last word.” After explaining that these words of Cardinal Cerejeira concerning the third Secret have given rise to many illusory commentaries, the Bishop of Leiria continued:

“Neither has Fatima come to give reason to the prophets of imaginary world catastrophes. Fatima cannot be reduced to sensational prophecies of frightful wars… We affirm that Fatima is something much more serious than all that. Fatima, really, in this too, “actualizes” the whole evangelical meaning of a Church launched eschatologically towards a future which is, to be sure, most assuredly in God’s hands; but which, however, is continually threatened by the mystery of iniquity “which is already at work” (2 Thess. 2: 7).”

It would be astonishing that as he publicly brought up the question of the third Secret’s real contents – this “subject so difficult and even perilous”, as he himself says in his pastoral letter – Bishop Venancio would have cited by chance, and carelessly, “the mystery of iniquity already at work” spoken of by Saint Paul. This precise reference to the prophecy of the second chapter of the second epistle to the Thessalonians, in such a context and under the pen of a man as circumspect as Bishop Venancio, is undoubtedly significant.

THE LOGIC OF THE PROPHECIES

Moreover, do we not know that the manifestation of the Impious or wicked one spoken of by the Apostle will be tied to the apostasy as its final development, before the final triumph and arrival of Christ Jesus?

“And then the wicked one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will slay with the breath of His mouth and the brightness of His coming.” (2 Thess. 2: 8)

But does not the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary have to prepare and immediately precede that of Her Son?

If this is so, do not the great apostasy and the revelation of the Impious one have to precede, in turn, the “final triumph” of the Immaculate Heart of Mary announced by the conclusion of the Secret? In the unfolding of the prophecies, the events predicted by Saint Paul seem to correspond to the same “intermediate period” as the one directly touched on by Our Lady’s third Secret.

We know that on July 6, 1851, Mélanie, the seer of La Salette, when writing down her secret so as to pass it on to Pope Pius IX, «asked the meaning of the word “infallibly”, and the correct spelling of the words “polluted city”, and “antichrist”.

A STRIKING PROPHECY OF SAINT PIUS X

What we also know with sure knowledge, because it is an unquestionable fact, is the frightful progress made by impiety in our modern society. It is not an illusion to say that no period of the world’s history has seen this impiety, denounced by Saint Paul, pushed to such a point.

At the dawn of the century, Saint Pius X, in his inaugural encyclical, E supremi apostolatus cathedra, made this observation, seized with fright. The apostolic office frightened him, he avowed, precisely for this reason:

“We felt a sort of terror, considering the disastrous conditions of humanity at the present hour. Can we ignore such a profound and grave evil, which at this moment much more than in the past, is working away at its very marrow and leading it to its ruin? You know what this malady is, Venerable Brethren, it is the abandoning of God and apostasy from Him; and without any doubt, nothing leads more surely to ruin, according to these words of the prophet: “Those who depart far from You perish.” (Ps. 72: 27)

“We understood that it belonged to Us, in virtue of the pontifical office entrusted to Us, to provide a remedy for such a great evil. We believed that this order of God was addressed to Us: ‘Behold, today I set you over nations and kingdoms, to tear down and destroy, to build up and to plant’. ” (Jer. 1: 10) Further on, he denounces “the impious war which has been stirred up, and which continues almost everywhere, against God…”

What is the remedy?

“It is necessary, by every means, and at the price of any effort, to uproot entirely this monstrous and detestable iniquity proper to the times we are living in, and through which man substitutes himself for God.”

And Saint Pius X, referring to the text we have just commented on, goes so far as to state that the Apostle’s prophecy has perhaps begun being fulfilled in our century:

“Truly, whoever ponders these things must necessarily and firmly fear whether such a perversion of minds is not the sign announcing, and the beginning of the last times, and that the Son of Perdition spoken of by the Apostle (2 Thess. 2: 3) might already be living on this earth. So great is the audacity and so great the rage with which religion is mocked everywhere, and the dogmas of the faith are fought against, there is a stubborn effort to completely suppress man’s duties towards God!”

“Now this, according to the same Apostle, is the character proper to Antichrist; man, with unspeakable temerity, has usurped the place of the Creator, lifting himself above everything that bears the name of God. It has reached such a point that, being powerless to completely extinguish in himself the notion of God, he nevertheless shakes off the yoke of His Majesty, and dedicates the visible world to himself in the guise of the temple, where he pretends to receive the adoration of his own kind… “He sits in the temple of God, and gives himself out as if he were God” (2 Thess. 2: 4).”

Saint Pius X gave this frightening diagnosis of the situation of the world on October 4, 1903. Who could dispute that since this date, the same evils he denounced then have only grown, and in gigantic proportions? What would he say today, when the atheistic, satanic Bolshevik Revolution is relentlessly extending to the entire planet… with the active complicity of so many leaders of the Church? [Ed. note: Today, dialectical materialism is the scourge both within and without the Church and seems firmy entrenched worldwide through the COVID tyranny.]

What would he say when the most scandalous immorality, [Ed.: that is, the  institutionalized perversion in society and even in the Vatican itself.]  and when murder on a grand scale, is permitted and encouraged by the law in once Catholic nations? What would he say, now that Modernism, the “synthesis of all heresies”, manifests itself openly and enjoys the favour, or benevolent tolerance, of all the Pastors? In a century, the evil has grown beyond measure and penetrated the very heart of the Church; indeed, it has reached its highest summit.

POPE PAUL VI AND THE “CULT OF MAN”

One  text alone is sufficient to show the immense distance covered, in falling into the abyss of apostasy. It is the discourse of Pope Paul VI on December 7, 1965, for the closing of the Council. It is impossible to reread these words, pronounced on such a solemn occasion, without pointing out the resemblances that impose themselves – both with the prophecy of the Apostle, as well as the interpretation clearly inspired by the Spirit given to us by Pius X, the saintly Pope of the twentieth century. Here is the essential passage, but the discourse is completely in the same vein:

“The Church of the Council, it is true… has been very much occupied with man, with man such as he proposes himself in reality to our time: living man, man completely occupied with himself, man who makes himself not only the centre of everything that interests him, but who dares to proclaim himself the principle and ultimate reason of all reality. This whole phenomenal man, that is, clothed with his innumerable appearances, has been placed before the assembly of Council Fathers…”

“Secularizing and profane humanism has appeared finally in its terrible stature, and has, in a certain sense, defied the Council. The religion of God Who became man has encountered the religion (for it is one) of man who makes himself God.”

“What happened? A clash, a battle, an anathema? This could have happened; but it did not take place. The old story of the Samaritan has been the model of the Council’s spirituality. An unlimited sympathy (sic) has pervaded it completely. The discovery of human needs (and they are all the greater, to the degree that the son of the earth [sic] makes himself greater) has absorbed our Synod’s attention. Recognize for it at least this merit, you modern humanists, who deny the transcendence of the highest things, and recognize our new humanism: we too, we more than anybody, have the cult of man.”

MASONIC RELIGION

‘Secularizing and profane humanism’, the ‘religion of man who makes himself God’, this is undoubtedly the Marxist religion – for it is a religion – and even more, the Masonic religion. But according to Saint Paul, and according to the entire, unanimous Catholic tradition up to Saint Pius X, up to Pius XII,  this is precisely the religion of the Impious one, the religion of Antichrist.

[Ed: And note too, regarding Paul VI’s quote above, the following quote from Apocalypse 13, 11: “And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns, like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon.” In this prophecy, “the earth” refers to the Church. Thus, Pope Paul refers to the work of Lucifer within the Church at the top.]

Well, now! Towards this open, shameless Impiety, the supreme sin which Saint Paul abominates because it is satanic in its very essence, because it is the sin of the “Son of perdition”, who provokes God’s just wrath and merits eternal damnation – faced with “this monstrous and detestable iniquity proper to the times we are living in, and through which man substitutes himself for God”, as Saint Pius X said – the Council felt no animosity, Pope Paul VI declares to us. On the contrary, before this “son of the earth”, this “modern humanist” who today makes himself “greater” than ever in his open revolt against God, “an unlimited sympathy has pervaded the entire Council”.

For the first time, between the Ministers of God and the children of Belial, between the Vicar of Christ and the henchmen of the Adversary, there was neither a clash, nor a battle, nor an anathema. No, “a current of affection and admiration has overflowed from the Council over the modern human world”.  It is hardly necessary to make it clear that neither Jesus, Who “is Love” (1 Jn. 4: 8), nor Saint John His Evangelist, nor Saint Paul, the Apostle of the Gentiles, had ever thought of interpreting “the old story [sic] of the Samaritan” this way. This new exegesis confuses the victim – “the man who fell among robbers” and was left by them “half dead”, over whom the “Good Samaritan”, Jesus Himself, lovingly bends – with the murderers, the “lawless men” which here mean Satan and his henchmen. [Ed Note: See here the correspondence between Pope Paul and Pope Francis. And also see our post on The Judas Complex and Pope Francis.]

“LYING PRODIGIES”

Is not this fallacious exegesis, instead, one of the “lying prodigies” of which Saint Paul speaks to the Thessalonians? And one wonders: by what “misleading influence, that they may believe falsehood” (2 Thess. 2: 11-12), not a single one of the 2,400 bishops present dared to denounce, immediately, the Impiety of such statements? Only one priest had the farsightedness and the courage to do so at that very moment, and untiringly since then, even going so far as to complain about it openly to the Pope in 1973, making it the “capital accusation” of his Liber accusationis.

Quoting and commenting on this Discourse of December 7, 1965, “a discourse, it is certain, such as there has never been in the Church’s annals, and never will be again, this discourse which culminates in the proclamation, before the face of the world and the Face of God, of the cult of Man”, our Father [Frère Michel refers here to the Abbe de Nantes, whose own apostolate was usurped after his death]  wrote:

“See how this sentiment of immoderate love leads you to be reconciled with the Goliath of the modern World, to bend your knees before the Enemy of God, which defies you and hates you. Instead of taking courage and fighting, like David, against the Adversary, you declare yourself full of love for him, you adulate him and before long you place yourself at his exclusive service! Your charity idolizes and serves the Enemy of God, and to flatter him, you go so far as to rival him in his error, even in his blasphemy. ‘You are making a covenant with man, who makes himself God! You claim to surpass them all, these atheistic humanists of our time, mad with pride, in the fact of the cult of man.’

One shudders to think that Pope Paul VI pronounced this impious discourse, where he dared to proclaim openly his own «cult of man», seated on his throne at Saint Peter’s, at Rome itself.

Has not the hour come to recite once more, with Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort, his prophetic “Prière embrasée”, beseeching God to intervene to save “His Church, so weakened and so soiled by the crimes of its children”, to extinguish the raging fire of apostasy, which is in the process of devouring it:

PRIÈRE EMBRASÉE

“Tempus faciendi, Domine, dissipaverunt legem tuam: it is time, Lord, to do what You have promised to do. Your Divine Law is transgressed, Your Gospel is abandoned, the torrents of iniquity flood the entire world, and even carry away Your servants, the whole earth is desolate, Impiety is on the throne, your Sanctuary has been profaned and the Abomination is even in the Holy Place (Dan. 9: 27; Mt. 24: 15). Oh, permit me to shout everywhere: Fire, fire, fire! Help, help, help! Fire in God’s house, fire in souls, fire even in the Sanctuary!”

Is it not this same prophetic warning, this same vehement appeal which the Immaculate Virgin Herself came to give the Church, in the triple Secret of July 13, 1917?

“Fire in souls”: this is the first part of the Secret, the vision of hell.

“Fire in God’s house”: this is Christendom threatened by the Bolshevik conflagration, [that is, the spread of the errors of Russia].

“Fire in the Sanctuary”: this is the devastating apostasy, which has reached even the summit of the Church. It is the prophecy of the Third Secret.

[End of quote from Frère Michel de la Sainte Trinité.]

It should be obvious that no one is proposing that Pope Paul VI was the Antichrist, but that clearly he served the agenda of antichrist, and today we see his successor, Francis, in a similar light, not The Antichrist, but rather, perhaps, his final predecessor; relentlessly advancing the same agenda, which is now reaching its culmination. We have also indicated, in a previous post that the 50 year anniversary of the preliminary enthronement, most likely occurred in June, 2013, once Bergoglio had ascended to the papacy, thus granting the antichristic powers complete control over the Church. For the moment, it seems as though they have won.

St. Hildegard’s Prophecies

Now is the time to review our posts on St. Hildegard’s prophecies, here and here.

The reason I continue to stress this point is that we really must grasp this one fact: there is nothing that we can do that is as important as living the message of Fatima. Rosary. First Saturdays, Scapular. Consecration. Sacrificial spirit in all our daily duties. Avoiding the comfortable sins of everyday life that permeate our surroundings. With every heart beat, every breath: love for Our Lady. Love for Our dear Lord Jesus Christ. Reparative love. Sacrificial love.

And here’s the thing. Many will be tempted to think they were misled. We are so used to instant gratification today that if we do not see the east coast of the United States washed away in a tsunami, or an immediate muslim takeover of Rome, we will think our penance in vain. Penance is never in vain. I hope I have documented that it is the will of Our Lady – and more, it is the will of God – that we do this, whether or not we see any results at all. For we are told by Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself,  “As in the days of Noah …”

Insight from Mother Maria de Jesus de Agreda

Did you know that Venerable Mother Maria de Agreda’s book, “The Mystical City of God” refers to the Blessed Virgin Mary?

In the “The Mystical City of God” Mother Maria de Agreda explains that the title refers to the Most Blessed Virgin herself. And she refers extensively to her mystical revelations of the Apocalypse to explain Mary’s exalted role in the Eternal Father’s plan for our salvation. I regret that I am unable to do more than simply provide you with a few brief excerpts from this work, but trust that they will enrich your Rosary meditations and fortify you for our ongoing and ever deepening spiritual battle. To continue with venerable Mother Maria de Agreda:

“267. The angel spoke to the Evangelist saying: “Come, and I will show thee the bride, the wife of the Lamb,” etc. The angel declares in this passage, that the holy city of Jerusalem, which he showed to him, is the espoused wife of the Lamb, referring by this metaphor (as I have already said No. 248) to the most holy Mary, whom St. John saw both as a Mother, or Woman, and as a Spouse of the Lamb, that is Christ. The Queen held and fulfilled in divine manner both offices.

“She was the Spouse of the Divinity, the only One (Cant. 6, 8) and incomparable on account of the unequalled faith and love, with which the espousals were entered into and accomplished; and She was the Mother of the same Lord incarnate, giving Him His mortal substance and flesh, nourishing and sustaining Him in His existence as man, which He derived from Her. In order to see and understand such high mysteries the Evangelist was exalted in spirit to a great height of sanctity and light; for without going out of himself and being raised above human weakness, he could not understand them; just as we, imperfect, earthly and abject creatures, cannot encompass them for the same reason.

“Then elevated thus high, he says: “He showed me the holy city of Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven,” for Mary was built up and formed, not on earth, where She was like a pilgrim and a stranger, but in heaven, where the common, earthly material was excluded. For though the material of her being was taken from the earth, it was at the same time so elevated in heavenly perfection as to be fit for the building up of that mystical City in a celestial and angelic, yet divine manner, effulgent with the Divinity. 268. Therefore he adds: “Having the glory of God,” for the most holy soul of Mary was favored with such a participation of the Divinity and of its attributes and perfections, that if it were possible to see Her in her own essence, She would appear as if illumined with the eternal splendor of God Himself.

“Great and glorious things are said in the Catholic church of this City of God, and of the splendor, which She has received from that same Lord; but all of it is insignificant, and all human words fall short of the truth.

I’ll include a few more quotes regarding this most precious and beloved City of God, the Blessed Virgin Mary:

“Above all We shall give to Her dominion and power over the dragon, our enemy, and over all his allied demons. Let them fear her presence and her name and in it, let their deceits be crushed and annihilated. Let all the mortals that fly to this City of refuge, find in it a sure and certain protection, free from all the dread of the demons and their snares.” . . .

“The blessed Trinity made known to Her that before His most just tribunal nothing would ever be denied to Her; that She should command the devil and that She should have power, by virtue of her commands, to keep him away from souls, since She would have at her disposal the arm of the Almighty.

“In saying that this City was surrounded by a great and high wall St. John refers to this God-given prerogative of his Mother, that She was to be the secret refuge: protection and defense of all men, wherein they would find all the security of a city of refuge and of a strong fortress against their enemies.

“He says that the walls are very high, for the power of the most pure Mary to overcome the demon and to raise the souls to grace is so great that it is inferior only to that of God Himself. So well armed for all this and so well defended and secure for Herself and for all those, who seek her protection, is this City, that not all the forces created by God outside of Her can overthrow or surmount its walls.

“I desire to mention that the measure of the dignity, the merits and graces of most holy Mary, was none other than the humanity of her most blessed Son, united to the divine Word.

“The Evangelist calls the humanity of Christ a “reed” because He assumed the frailty of our weak and carnal nature, and “of gold,” on account of His Divinity. In accordance with the dignity of the true God-man, Christ, and correspondingly with the gifts and merits of the incarnate God.

“280. From all this can be estimated the greatness of that City of God, the most holy Mary.:

We have been struggling for such a long time towards a deeper understanding of devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary to enrich our consecrations to her. It is good to leave the hateful darkness of the occupied Vatican and its sycophants among the professional Catholic experts and walk in the light of faith, in devotion to the Immaculate Heart of the Mother of Our Lord – she who has taken us for her own children. How blessed we are!

I’m not sure how relevant it is to be recommending such a voluminous work in view of the disastrous situation we are all in. But if you have the time, or can make time for spiritual reading, I highly recommend the four volumes of Agreda’s Mystical City of God..  In addition to Venerable Maria de Jesus de Agreda, I’ve been reading “The Last Mass of Padre Pio” by Alessandro Gnocchi and Mario Palmaro. If you do not remember Palmaro, Rorate’s article is here. (You might want to search for more.) And another very useful work is “The Watches of the Sacred Passion, Volumes I & II” by Rev. Peter Gallwey, S.J. which is a free download from archive.org. It is heart-wrenching to think of the tremendous loss the Church has sustained in the fall of the Jesuits. Just think, from the likes of Father Gallwey to Pope Francis! Also, “Padre Pio’s Spiritual Direction for Every Day”., sorry I do not have time for the link.  It’s a book I refer to almost daily and always gain something worthwhile from it. But one of my favorites of all time is Father Maximilian Kolbe’s little gem of a book, “She Leadeth Me” by Kolbe Publications. It is a very small book, but a spiritual powerhouse nevertheless!

If only I could get just a bit more stamina back, (and time off from the very non-helpful medical providers!) I would like to write more on the books just cited, especially my most beloved saint, Padre Pio. How wish I had been able to have those books when I was young. But our Father knows the best time for His gracious gifts and even at this late age, He blesses me with these treasures! I hope you too will avail yourself of them – and then tell me what you think!

God bless you all, and may Our Mother keep you close to her Immaculate Heart!

(Return to Fatima receives no recompense for recommending books.)

Thank you for reading. I pray for you all, always!

Falling Like Stars, June 2020

Today’s post was originally published in 2015 and it foretold the attacks on the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the priesthood. Tell me, please – which Church leader among our many “excellencies” and “Eminences” is defending the faith in any substantial way, that is, by rallying faithful Catholics to return to the message of Our Lady of the Rosary at Fatima,? Only through obedience to God’s will, can sufficient reparation be made.

“And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads, and ten horns: and on his head seven diadems: And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and cast them to the earth.”
(Apocalypse 12, v. 3-4).

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE MASS!

One point worth repeating is that the message at Fatima began with a warning from St. Michael the Archangel about abuses against the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Holy Eucharist and then it presents Our Lady offering the remedy for this assault from satan. I want to be very clear on this point: God sends to us His most beloved creature, the most pure and ever Virgin Mary, whom He chose to provide the Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior.

Again, the Sacred Body and Precious Blood, sacrificed for our redemption were provided through the Immaculate Virgin Mary. In that sense, we are united with her through our Holy Communions. She is the Mother of the Holy Catholic Church, and she is as well, the Mother of the Mass! This Immaculata is our only means to restore the essential Holy Sacrifice. If we continue to offend her by our indifference to her commands, there will be no further help given. I have updated this post from 2015 in the hope that it may help convince of the importance of our situation, which is dire. You will very soon lose even more than you already have lost. The world is on the brink of chaos and I have been unable to bring myself to speak of what will happen.

In the next few posts, I’ll try to wrap it up and my next newsletters will be on the last few remedies you will have. I do wish some of the important blogs that get seen by many people could have understood the importance of true Consecration to Jesus through the Immaculata. But they have strayed into error, thinking that any devotion to the Immaculate Heart is sufficient. They do this because they are not able to discern. They are not able to discern for the obvious reasons, as amply explained in sacred scripture and church teaching and repeated so often here.

And now, when it is most important, Our Lady is attacked and insulted by those who pretend to be most devoted to her. They are pious frauds. This is so much more important than you understand – yes, Our Lord said that “it is never too late to turn to Jesus and Mary” – that means you can still save your soul until the moment your soul is required of you. But sadly, many will find that they have forfeited the precious souls entrusted to them. These souls depend on our obedience.

FALLING LIKE STARS 2015, UPDATED FOR 2020

Today we have, among other things a prophecy from the Ninth Century which applies to just these times. It was originally posted in October 2015, as Pope Bergoglio began his efforts to destroy the Mass, the Sacred Priesthood and the Sacrament of Marriage. An ambitious program to be sure but one that he has easily continued with the complicity of most of the clergy.

We see in the quote from Apocalypse 12 (at the top) that by referring to the Dragon as a “sign” that it is not Satan but rather, a person which represents the power of Satan in the world, such as one who works for the evil, worldly institutions which constitute the body of Satan as opposed to the Church, the Mystical Body of Christ Our Lord.

Father Herman Kramer, in his commentary on this passage of the Apocalypse believes it to indicate that through the evil powers of the world, satan will enter the Church to:

“interfere with her liberty and …  having long before directed the choosing of candidates for the episcopate will now endeavor by threats of force to hinder the election of the worthiest candidate for the papacy.  The seven heads may be seven world-powers existing and holding sway over the world at that time.”

Regarding the tail of the dragon drawing down a third part of the stars of heaven, Fr. Kramer explains,

“Before the appearance of Antichrist, ‘one third’ of the stars shall follow the dragon. This is a compulsory apostasy shown by the Greek word, which means ‘to drag by force’. The subsequent phrase, ‘and cast them to the earth’, specifies this meaning with greater precision. Satan will probably through the evil world-powers of the time exercise such tyranny over the church as to leave the clergy the alternative of submission to the government or martyrdom by death or imprisonment and will enforce the acceptance of unchristian morals, false doctrines, compromise with error, or obedience to the civil rulers in violation of conscience. … The text suggests a use of the apostate clergy, after their own defection, in persecuting the Church. Verse nine clearly states that those who will not brave martyrdom will surrender to Satan. The dragon will have them doing his will.”

When Fr. Kramer wrote this, he did not have the “benefit” that we have of living in these times. We now know that the “evil world powers” tyrannizing the Church are fully within it, and are not only external governments. They are obviously allied  with the world powers yet they are definitely within the Church. 2020 NOTE: See the complicity of Parolin and Bergoglio against faithful Catholics in China. As of June 23, 2020: A defector from Communist China has reported that the Communist government of China pays the corrupt Bergoglian-occupied Vatican about $2 Billion a year to keep silent as faithful Catholics are persecuted and martyred for the faith. And Judas only received 30 pieces of silver!

Kramer then quotes St. Methodius, who speaks of these “stars”

“And the stars, which the dragon touched with the end of his tail, and drew them down to the earth, are the bodies of heresies; for we must say that the stars, which are dark, obscure, and falling are the assemblies of the heterodox”. The verse seems to allude to Isaias (IX. 15-16). The tail is a symbol of lying and hypocrisy. Through false doctrines and principles, Satan will mislead the clergy, who will have become worldly-minded, haughty, hypocritical, obsequient avaricious sycophants. …  many will enter the priesthood from bad motives. They will look to the Church to satisfy their ambition and avarice and will think it easier to gain an honorable position in the Church than in the world.

… Such have not the spirit of sacrifice or mortification in the priesthood, and when persecution shall “sift them as wheat”, they shall be found to be chaff. By their lax principles they will infect the laity. They will easily welcome a mitigation or change of doctrine to sanction the lukewarm lives they want to lead. Then will Satan see a rich harvest ripening for himself. The symbolic meaning of the dragon’s tail may reveal that the clergy who are ripe for apostasy will hold the influential positions in the Church having won preferment by hypocrisy, deceit and flattery.

The great apostasy will then most likely include the laity as well as the clergy. The apostasy of the laity is a constant process of elimination of the lukewarm and indifferent. … The voluptuous, the drunkards, the impure who commit crimes and abuses against marriage, the fornicators, the proud and avaricious, the lukewarm and indifferent and all who are not ready to suffer everything the world can inflict on them will certainly be drawn into apostasy by the dragon’s power.

All those will apostatize who are “without faith”, i.e. unfaithful, unjust and untrustworthy; they desecrate sacred things (Soph. III. 4). Those priests also will follow the dragon who surrender to the wishes of such people as want to hear “pleasant things” (Isa. XXX. 10). And those will fall away who fear for their own interests and will not remonstrate against evil practices in the Church. (The Book of Destiny, Fr. H. Kramer, Kindle Ed.)

Citing Jeremiah 5, 31, Father Kramer tells us, “If bishops weakly give sanction to false principles, and priests praise them to be in their good graces, and the people love laxity, they will all apostatize.”

2020 NOTE: Remember that the following was written in the original “Falling Like Stars”, October, 2015:

“I offer these thoughts because very soon, Pope Francis will stage his Synod, which will have very little to do with what we expect of a Synod. From what Tosatti reports, the Pope has already prepared the final report without the input of the Bishops. (See Rorate here and here.) The Pope has already, on his own issued his Moto Proprio initiating “no fault annulments” and he has already declared the “Year of Mercy, to begin on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8. He will have his “Missionaries of Mercy” and no doubt issue his transformation of the Sacrament of Penance by initiating some sort of Ordo Paenitentium.

NOTE: In actuality,  the Ordo Paenitentium. proved to be unnecessary, as evidenced by  Bergoglio’s action’s with Argentine President Fernandez and his concubine.

Bergoglio gave the pro-abortion President and the concubine with whom he is living Holy Communion, thus demonstrating for all the faithful his determination that the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ be given into the profane hands of public, unrepentant sinners.  This is the apostasy at the highest level spoken of, warned of for so long. Did  any of our esteemed trad leaders call for reparation? Did even one single Bishop institute in his parish the First Saturdays of Reparation for this monumental outrage?

Why did not even one  Bishop establish First Saturdays of Reparation?

Why does not one Bishop obey Our Lady of Fatima?

What do you expect will be Our Lord’s response to this abominable indifference?

While his sycophants in the lapdog press assure us “No dogma is damaged by this”, and chortle over the neurotic fears of those rigid traditionals, the apostate bishops will quietly put the “new norms” into place, welcoming those who persist in their sins to receive the Body of Christ. Our poor priests are going to have to decide whether to leave their posts, their parishes, and their benefits, or hold on to them and thereby apostatize with the rest.

Dear Friends of Return to Fatima:

There is a concentrated, very determined effort to silence this message. Every single traditional Catholic talking head has decided to keep mum on Archbishop Vigano’s  promotion of. Civitavecchia under the guise of promoting the Message of Fatima as a worthy Marian devotion. They are offending Our Lady greatly and they would do well to recall Elizabeth Canori-Mora’s prophecy.

Not one trad media outlet has allowed the truth to emerge: If Archbishop Vigano truly wants to serve Our Lady of Fatima, he must work with the Bishops to promote reparation for this pope’s horrendous sacrilege against the Mass, the Sacraments, against his attempts to destroy the sacred priesthood – and the way to do this is by promoting the long-awaited First Saturdays of Reparation and not by burying the Fatima message in a barrage of new devotions which serve usury.

I do wish that the big and powerful blogs could rise above their perfectly understandable distaste for me personally, and graciously deign to preach the truth to the faithful who are starving for it. To them I say, speak the truth! Defend Our Lady of the Rosary! Preach the whole and entire and true message of Our Lady at Fatima. Father Kramer continues:

“The great apostasy will then most likely include the laity as well as the clergy. The apostasy of the laity is a constant process of elimination of the lukewarm and indifferent. . . .   the lukewarm and indifferent and all who are not ready to suffer everything the world can inflict on them will certainly be drawn into apostasy by the dragon’s power.

All those will apostatize who are “without faith”, . . . who surrender to the wishes of such people as want to hear “pleasant things” (Isa. XXX. 10). And those will fall away who fear for their own interests and will not remonstrate against evil practices in the Church.” (St. Methodius, who lived and died in the Ninth Century, more than 1000 years ago, quoted in the Book of Destiny by Father Herman Bernard Kramer.)

NOTE: Father Kramer cites the rarely quoted Old Testament book of Sophonias above and here is that quote: “Her prophets are senseless, men without faith: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have acted unjustly against the law.”  Sophonias is a brief but intriguing prophecy and even includes a special condemnation on those who prophesy falsely in the name of the Lord. Signs of the times…

REFERENCE

Father Kramer cites Jeremias 5, V 31: “The prophets prophesied falsehood, and the priests clapped their hands: and my people loved such things: What then shall be done in the end thereof?” I would also add from the same chapter, V. 2: “And though they say: The Lord liveth; this also they will swear falsely.” Because they piously twist the word of God to mislead the faithful.

Indeed, Father Kramer gives copious scripture citations in his charges against church leaders. Malachi Ch 2, , Daniel 11,

Sophonias 3,4,, “Her prophets are senseless, men without faith: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have acted unjustly against the law.”,  Another verse Father quotes is from Isaias 30, ” it shall be in the latter days for a testimony for ever.
9 For it is a people that provoketh to wrath, and lying children, children that will not hear the law of God.
10 Who say to the seers: See not: and to them that behold: Behold not for us those things that are right: speak unto us pleasant things, see errors for us.”

Amos 5, 13: “the prudent shall keep silence at that time, for it is an evil time.” Ezekiel 3.  “If, when I say to the wicked, Thou shalt surely die: thou declare it not to him, nor speak to him, that he may be converted from his wicked way, and live: the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at thy hand.”

The above are only a sampling of the quotes offered by Father Kramer; the fact that there are so many quotes against unfaithful church leaders throughout sacred scripture should give us insight into these sad times for the church. And it should help us to be very careful in choosing which leaders we will follow.  For in these days, the faithful are led astray by their desire to hear what pleases them in place of what is harsh but necessary. The truth in these days is a cleansing fire, not a gentle pleasant breeze.

Apocalypse 12, Part II

Pope John XXIII will be remembered as the Pope who defied the Mother of God, referring publicly to the little shepherds of Fatima as “Prophets of doom”. And yet  It is significant that the popes who succeeded him all referenced the Apocalypse or the last times when speaking of Fatima.

In August, 2016, we posted Apocalypse 12, Part I.  There has been an unavoidable delay in getting the promised Part II, but we post it today.

After thus linking . Fatima with Chapter 12 of the Apocalypse,,  he cautioned,  “we wish to call the attention of all sons of the Church once more to the indissoluble link between the spiritual motherhood of Mary … and the duties of redeemed men toward Her, the Mother of the Church.”  It was quintessentially typical of him that he urges  the faithful to be obedient even as he disobeyed the Blessed Mother and betrayed her children. (Pope Paul VI,Apostolic Letter, “Signum Magnum”, that is, Great Sign)

“The Message of Fatima is a call to conversion, alerting humanity to have nothing to do with the “dragon” whose “tail swept down a third of the stars of Heaven, and cast them to the earth” (Apoc.

And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman, who brought forth the man child:  And there were given to the woman two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the desert unto her place, where she is nourished for a time and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

This tells us of Satan, the Ancient Serpent, who has set up his Kingdom on earth  among the Godless nations and wars against the Woman, that is the most Blessed Virgin and the Church, the Bride of Christ.  Our Lord Himself has promised us that the Gates of satan’s worldly kingdom, the man-made utopia  which is even now promoted by Pope Francis himself-those hateful gates of satan’s kingdom on earth will not prevail, for the Victory belongs to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

And you shall be to me a priestly kingdom, and a holy nation.”

Returning to the Apocalypse, in verses 15-16,.

Pray the Rosary and trust in Our Lady – she will not fail!

French laws no longer recognize the Creator

“French laws no longer recognize the Creator, but the Creator will make Himself recognized and will visit her thrice with the rod of His wrath.”

Thank you all for your kind Easter thoughts and prayers. I hope your Easter was happy and very blessed! Readers ask for answers about the torching of Notre Dame and the prophecies we sometimes discuss here, especially that of St. John Bosco. A review:

Now, St. John Bosco’s prophecy about France, especially Paris, is a particularly helpful one, not just for Paris, or France, but for for the entire Bergoglian Reformed Church, which sadly no longer recognizes the Creator..

“War comes from the south, peace from the north. French laws no longer recognize the Creator, but the Creator will make Himself recognized and will visit her thrice with the rod of His wrath. In the first visit He breaks her pride by conquest, plundering ruined harvest and butchery of men and beasts.

“In the second visit the great Prostitute of Babylon, which makes decent people sigh and call it the Brothel of Europe, will be left without a leader and will be a victim of disorder. “Paris! Paris! Instead of arming yourself in the name of the Lord, you fortify yourself with Houses of Immorality. They will be destroyed by you yourself. Your idol, The Pantheon, will be burnt to ashes in order that this may come true: ‘violence uttereth lies against me.’ Your enemies will reduce you to want, to hunger, to fear, and will make you the abomination of the nations. Ah, woe to you, if you do not recognize the hand that strikes you! I want to punish immorality, the despising of and the contempt for My law, says the Lord. …

“In the third visit you will fall into the hands of foreigners. Your enemies standing afar off will behold your palaces in flames. Your homes will become a heap of ruins bathed with the blood of your heroes who are no more. But there will come a great warrior from the North carrying a banner and on the right hand that supports it is written: ‘The Irresistible Hand of the Lord. The days fly by, your years will reach the destined number; but the great Queen (Mary) will ever be your help, and as in times past so in the future She will always be the exceeding great fortress of the Church.” (. . . )

“The enemy of the good does not stand idle one moment…He will raise up enemies amongst my children. The powers of the world will belch forth fire,  (. . . ) Wherever you go, continue and bring to an end the work entrusted to you. The days fly by, your years will reach the destined number; but the great Queen (Blessed Virgin Mary) will ever be your help, and as in times past so in the future She will always be the exceeding great fortress of the Church.”  (From “The Prophets and Our Times“, by Rev. Gerald Culleton, by KIC, Kindle Edition.)

A reasonable interpretation, in light of what we know now, would be:

The Saint refers to France in terms that might be used by the Old Testament prophets castigating the unfaithful of Israel, calling her “the great Prostitute of Babylon”  and “the Brothel of Europe”, both references to France unfaithful to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and become cold and indifferent to the faith.

“Instead of arming yourself in the name of the Lord, you fortify yourself with Houses of Immorality.”  That is, instead of arming themselves with the weapons given by Our Lady of Fatima, the faithless shepherds chose the treasonous path of surrender before the secular agenda of the Rulers of the World, the enemies of Christ and His Church.

St. John Bosco calls the churches of France, “Houses of Immorality”, and he warns that they, “will be destroyed by you yourself. Your idol, The Pantheon, will be burnt to ashes in order that this may come true: ‘violence uttereth lies against me.’ Your enemies will reduce you to want, to hunger, to fear, and will make you the abomination of the nations.”  Refers to replacing the true evangelic mission of the Church with idolatrous liberalism, pantheistic ecumenism and sexual depravity. The Churchmen of France have allowed her churches to become stripped of their sacred character and become complicit in their prostitution as tourist traps debased to the leve of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. “They will be destroyed by you yourself” is obvious. Long before the terrorist torching of Notre Dame, the Bishops themselves destroyed the structures of the faith they have abandoned.

“Ah, woe to you, if you do not recognize the hand that strikes you!”  Yes, woe to the cowardly Bishops who follow their pontiff, agreeing to “speak not a word” about the true enemies of Christ who continue to smite the Bride of Christ.

The” third visit” is self-explanatory,

“you will fall into the hands of foreigners … the enemy will raise up enemies from amongst my children . . . the powers of the world will belch forth fire”. At the end, Our Lady, as the Holy Ghost keeps reminding us, “will ever be your help, and as in times past so in the future She will always be the exceeding great fortress of the Church.”

There is another interesting prophecy, oddly enough, by a Jesuit from the 18th century, Father Nectou:

“When those things come to pass which will bring on the triumph of the Church, then will such confusion reign on earth that people will think God has permitted them to have their own contrary will and that the providence of God is not concerned about the world. The confusion will be so general that mankind will not be able to think aright, as if God had entirely withheld His providence from mankind, and that, during the worst crisis, the best that can be done would be to remain where God has placed us, and persevere in fervent prayer.

“Two parties will be formed in France which shall fight unto death. The party of evil will at first be stronger; the good side shall be weaker. At that time there shall be such a terrible crisis that people, frightened by events, shall believe that the end of the world is come. Blood shall flow in several large cities. The very elements shall be convulsed. It will be like a little general judgment. A great multitude of persons shall perish in these calamitous times.

“But the wicked shall never prevail. They indeed shall conspire for the destruction of the Church; but time shall not be allowed them, because this frightful crisis shall be of a short duration. When all will be considered lost, all shall be found safe. During this revolution, which shall very likely be general, and not confined to France, Paris shall be destroyed so completely that, twenty years afterwards, fathers walking over its ruins with their children, these will inquire what place that was. To whom they will answer: “My child, this was formerly a great city, which God has destroyed on account of her crimes.”

“Paris shall certainly be destroyed, but before this occurs, such signs and portents shall be observed, that all good people will be induced to fly away from it. After this most terrible event, everything shall return to order; justice shall reign in the world, and the counter-revolution shall be accomplished. The triumph of the Church will then be so complete that nothing like it shall ever be seen, for this will be the last victory of the Church upon earth. Those persons who shall behold this last revolution will thank God for having preserved them to witness this glorious triumph of the Church.” (This prophecy as well is from the book cited above.)

Note that Father Nectou foresees a confusion that “will be so general that mankind will not be able to think aright, as if God had entirely withheld His providence from mankind,”  That reminds me of what Father Malachi Martin said to us about the Third Secret.

The most intriguing portion of Father Nectou’s prophecy is the little vignette he offers, of a father telling his son about the the devastated city of Paris, My child, this was formerly a great city, which God has destroyed on account of her crimes.”

This need not be! Whether she is honored as Our Lady of Paris, or Our Lady of Fatima, she will bring the victory for she is truly, “the exceeding great fortress of the Church.”

Blasphemy for Christmas

“And he took me away in spirit into the desert. And I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.” (Apocalypse, 17,3)

St. John thus makes note of the important place that blasphemy holds in these latter days. Wouldn’t you love to see this remarkable papacy from St. John’s eyes! Well, as luck would have it, here we are in the midst of those times so long ago prophesied. . .

Isn’t this the fifth Christmas for this benighted papacy? This poor pope must be about 83 or so, and his time is running out.  It seems to have brought with it an increase in his vengeance against Christ and His Blessed Mother. On Friday, 21 December, the day he addressed the Curia, he also spoke to his employees and their families at the Vatican.. According to Vatican News,

“Drawing attention to the Nativity scene, the Pope said that Our Lady and St. Joseph are happy because, after a thousand worries, they have received this Gift from God with so much faith and so much love. ‘They are overflowing with holiness and therefore with joy.’ But it was not easy for them, the Pope said, adding ‘saints are not born, they become so, and this also applies to them.’ “

And so, in a very off-hand manner, the pope asserts that Our Lady and St. Joseph “were not born saints, they become so”; thus, neatly divesting Our Lady of her infallibly proclaimed Immaculate Conception. This continued along the lines of his earlier affront to Our Lady which we discussed in Pope Francis tells us about Mary, a normal girl”

This insult was then echoed by a protege of the pope, Bishop Manuel Linda of Oporto, Portugal in a Christmas interview with the Observador, a widely read newspaper of Portugal. According to Rorate Caeli:

“He [Christ] was conceived by Mary and Joseph as any other person… Virginity is only associated with Mary as a metaphor to prove that Jesus was a very special person.”

“We should never refer to the physical virginity of Mary.” “The Old Testament says many times that Jesus was to be born of a maiden, a daughter of Israel, who was simple, poor, and humble. But this is truly just a reference to the full devotion of this woman to God.The gift of being mother of God was given to Mary because she had an undivided heart. What matters is full giving of herself,”explains Bp Manuel Linda.

“And he adds, “There certainly are women with a ruptured hymen who are more virgin in the sense of full devotion to God than some with an intact hymen.”

A Spiritual Battle

Thus, the Bishop of Opporto illustrates that this is a spiritual battle, above all. And he shows which side he is on.  For we know what happened to the “woman” who rode the scarlet coloured beast. “And the ten horns which thou sawest in the beast: these shall hate the harlot, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and shall burn her with fire.” (Apoc. 17, 16)

The Church, most pure Bride of Christ can only be freed from the filth of the satanic occupiers by the means Our Lord has given us, that is, the spiritual weapons offered by Our Lady of the Rosary at Fatima. Clamoring for our Bishops and Cardinals to call for a new Council, or whatever, will only worsen the situation. These men have been responsible for, at a minimum, tolerance of the heresy and apostasy that are all-pervasive within the hierarchy. They have each and every one, been complicit in the post-Conciliar denigration of the Mass and sacraments. These men continue to offend Our Lord greatly. They are incapable of doing otherwise until such time as sufficient reparation has been made by those who still hold the true faith.

Pope Francis, poor man, is now responsible for the blood of many faithful, “drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus” (Apoc 17, 6)  as will become apparent in due time. Pope Francis has initiated a process that will contribute to not only the loss of many souls in the great mission country of China (link), but has betrayed many saints currently suffering (and many more yet to suffer) for their faith. Their blood is on his hands. He has welcomed the anti-Christic muslims who kill Christians as a “religious” duty. He has publicly insulted Our Lady and has rewarded men who have joined him in his endeavor to blaspheme her. He has been active in supporting the “rite of sodomy” within the Church. Only God knows how long this situation will endure, but in the end, there will be a cleansing.

Our Lord Jesus Christ, Who is Wisdom, has thus allowed the evil to manifest itself so that it may be driven forth, as evil is always driven forth, by fasting, penance, and prayer, and ultimately and most decisively, by the blood of martyrs, which renews and vivifies the faith. For make no mistake, it will come to pass, even as the Holy Ghost revealed to St. John:

“And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying: How long, O Lord (holy and true) dost thou not judge and revenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given to every one of them one; and it was said to them, that they should rest for a little time, till their fellow servants, and their brethren, who are to be slain, even as they, should be filled up.” (Apoc. 6, 9-11)

The blood of the martyrs cries out for justice; in no other way can reparation be made now, I fear.

We know Who will triumph.

Please pray the Rosary, make the First Saturdays of reparation and promote this devotion, so many souls depend on it.
