“The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness.
If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them.”
NOTE April 25, 2020. This restored post, written in 2015, is updated at the end of the post. evensong
Today is the 98th anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun that marked Our Lady’s Sixth Visit to Fatima. it is also the 42nd anniversary of Our Lady’s visit to Akita. Akita’s message seems primarily to emphasize the warnings of Fatima, but it too, failed or rather the Church failed to heed it.
On October 13, 1917, a miracle occurred, witnessed by between 70,000 and 100,000 people. The miracle defied the laws of physics and was verified by witnesses who were Masons, atheists and anti-Christians as well as by the faithful. The day, month and hour had been predicted before hand.
When Our Lady appeared to the children, Jacinta, Francisco and Lucia at this Sixth Apparition, her final words to them were, “…I am Our Lady of the Rosary. Continue to say the Rosary every day. …. People must amend their lives and ask pardon for their sins.“ Then, growing sadder, “They must not offend Our Lord any more for He is already too much offended.”
As Our Lady took leave of the children and rose, she spread her hands, which emitted brilliant rays of light. As she pointed towards the sun, the light from her hands brightened the very sun itself. At this precise moment, the crowds gathered there were astonished to see the dark clouds dispersed and the sky clear. And then the sun, which appeared as a brightly polished mother of pearl disc, began to spin, zig-zag and throw off brilliant flashes of light, blue and violet and golden yellow.
Then it suddenly began hurtling towards the earth, while the crowds screamed and fell to their knees in terror. Just as suddenly as it started, it was over and the sun resumed its place. As people sighed with relief and thanked God, all were amazed that the muddy field was dry and their own shoes and clothes were dry and clean. This is a vivid and clear visual lesson in the power which God grants to His beloved Mary. She gave brightness to the sun, she commanded the sun and it obeyed her. The additional miracle of the entire Cova and all the multitudes drying out and becoming clean in a mere 15 minutes is just as unexplainable a miracle. There is a message here which we will return to in next post.
Now, let’s consider the message of our Lady’s words to the children. The first point we notice is the emphasis on the Rosary; as she had promised, she told them her name: Our Lady of the Rosary, Then she urged them to pray the Rosary daily. There is a very important message here, to which we will return shortly. Next, “People must amend their lives and ask pardon for their sins.” Compare this message of amending our lives, begging God for pardon for our sins and stop offending Him, compare this to the constant message of our Merciful® Pontiff, welcoming all sinners, “meeting them where they are” and accompanying them, dialoging endlessly. Recently one of the Synod leaders proclaimed that they are eliminating the distinction between sin and the sinner. This is modernese for abolishing the concept of sin, ergo, no need to repent, no need to amend our lives.
So what do you think? After 98 years, how do we stand on obeying this Woman clothed with the Sun, who commands the sun and the forces of nature and they obey her?
On October 13, 1973, 56 years after that 1917 visit and 13 years after the 1960 deadline had passed without obedience, Our Lady appeared again. It was a subtler, but sterner message, no spectacular solar events, just blood, sweat and tears, symbols of suffering, and a dire warning. Our Lady of Akita’s message on this day, 42 years ago is even more relevant now in this time of the Synod, which afflicts entire Mystical Body of Christ so grievously.
Our Lady of Akita’s Message
“… if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by my Son. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and the priests.”
“The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against other bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres (other priests). Churches and altars will be sacked. The Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.”
“The demon will be especially implacable against the souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them.”
“. . . Pray very much the prayers of the Rosary. I alone am able still to save you from the calamities which approach. Those who place their confidence in me will be saved.“
Well, that was in 1973 and much has changed in these 42 years hasn’t it? It is all too clear that the faithful have not repented and the only changes have been for the worse. How many prelates have gone through the world, rallying Catholics to the messages of Fatima and Akita?
Did John Paul II warn those gathered in Assisi or the crowds who thronged to greet him everywhere he went, “Repent, stop offending God, do penance, make reparation, or you will all go down to hell!”? No, he did not even pray the Fatima decade prayer. He could have issued a Moto Proprio instituting the First Saturdays as specially indulgenced days when offered as Our Lady requested. Nope, he didn’t do that either. Did Pope Benedict, who said that Akita was essentially the same as Fatima, command Catholics to perform the Reparation ordered by either of those two appearances? Why not? Why has no pope done even a modicum of what Our Lady asked for?
Prayer of Our Lady of Akita
“Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, truly present in the Holy Eucharist, I consecrate my body and soul to be entirely one with Your Sacred Heart, being sacrificed at every instant on all the altars of the world and giving praise to the Father pleading for the coming of His Kingdom. Please receive this humble offering of myself. Use me as You will for the glory of the Father and the salvation of souls.
Most Holy Mother of God, never let me be separated from your Divine Son. Please defend and protect me as your special child. Amen.”
Our next post will address those questions and explore the meanings of the symbols. We’ll look at the messages within the context of the Synod and the ongoing revolution in the Church today. It’s clear that the time allotted to us to repent and amend our lives is nearly up. Let us make good use of the present time, for the darkness comes.

UPDATE 4-25-2020: There is a concerted effort to appropriate the message of Akita to the false devotion in Amsterdam, “The Lady of all nations who once was Mary.” This is a typical post-conciliar devotion, approved by Novus Ordo Bishops. complicit in the Novus Ordo Mass, which is an on-going sacrilege against the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
This false image of “The Lady of all nations” demands recognition of her titles as a remedy for our times. Really. In contrast, at Fatima, Our Lady demands “Do not offend Him any more for He is already much offended.” She constantly refers us to her Divine Son, our Savior, which is consistent with Our Lady of Knock, who never ceased looking up to Heaven in prayer. There is a strong similarity in this false apparition with that demanded by the false devotion to Saint Joseph, where he is demanding devotion to himself, a thing unheard of until these utterly self-absorbed times. True devotion to Saint Joseph honors him within the context of his devotion to Jesus and Mary and is an aid to our devotion to them.
A good Rule of thumb: Whatever promotes true devotion to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts and does not distract or alter the established devotions. Note this well, it is highly improbable, if not impossible for a Bishop who is complicit in the Novus Ordo Mass to be a reliable spiritual guide regarding these false apparitions. Besides, why seek other apparitions when we have the perfect and totally traditional devotions of the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts? Are Jesus and Mary not enough? What more does one receive from these false images?
It has been said that when men make idols they make them into their own image. The false image of The Lady – not Our Lady – is all about promoting herself, instead of drawing us to Lord Jesus Christ, the true goal of devotion to Mary, False devotions do not appeal to those who truly hear the Message of Our Lady of the Rosary. But God’s loving providence allows these false devotions in this time of winnowing. Soon we shall see them consumed by the chastisement.
The prophecy of Akita is only worthwhile insofar as it pertains to the Message of Fatima. The revelations we must focus on are the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Part II of this post: Fatima, Akita and the Chastisement, II
Remember – Our Lady needs us to obey: First Saturdays of Reparation, daily rosary, at least 5 mysteries, wear her brown scapular and live your Total Consecration to her Immaculate Heart, offering daily duties in reparation and for the conversion of poor sinners.
† Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of our hearts, Mother of the Church, do thou offer to the Eternal Father the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, for the conversion of poor sinners, especially our Pontiff.
† Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!
† Saint Joseph, patron of families, protect our families, protect our priests!
† St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle!
~ by evensong, for love of the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, King.
Vouchsafe that I may praise thee, O Sacred Virgin! Give me strength against thine enemies!
